GLEAMER's New Pioneering Study in “Radiology,” A New Era for Chest X-Ray Interpretation

Copie De Study At The Glance Using Ai To Improve Radiologist Performance In Detecting Abnormalities On Chest Radiographs 1

European tech innovator GLEAMER, renowned for AI-enhanced medical imaging solutions, has made headlines with a third publication in the esteemed journal 'Radiology.' Following two significant publications, one receiving the prestigious Margulis Award 2022 for Scientific excellence at the last RSNA, GLEAMER persists in pioneering medical AI research. The spotlight is now on ChestView, an advanced AI algorithm developed to detect anomalies in chest X-rays with precision comparable to human experts. This innovation highlights Gleamer's ability to extend its expertise to new imaging domains while maintaining top-tier expertise. Moreover, the study emphasizes that ChestView is the essential tool healthcare professionals need, effectively responding to their challenges by delivering higher-quality diagnostics in less time.

ChestView: An AI Milestone in Thoracic Imaging
Developed in collaboration with AP-HP and supported by a robust, cross-referenced CT-scan database, ChestView is already becoming an indispensable tool in more than 200 medical institutions worldwide. Mirroring its predecessor, BoneView, ChestView not only enhances diagnostic accuracy but also refines the workflow for radiologists. ChestView's capabilities span urgent care - identifying pneumothorax, pleural effusions, and consolidations - to early cancer detection with lung nodules and mediastinal masses, reflecting its relevance globally in private and public sectors.

The Transformative Study

The study "Using AI to Improve Radiologist Performance in Detecting Abnormalities on Chest Radiographs" by Bennani et al. has set a new benchmark for AI in medical diagnostics. GLEAMER’s collaboration with Cochin Hospital (AP-HP Paris, France) has demonstrated that with ChestView, radiologists see notable gains in detection rates, a surge in sensitivity, and a remarkable reduction in reading times—down by 31% on average. Specifically, the study highlights a sensitivity increase of up to 39% for detecting critical conditions such as pneumothorax and 18% for lung nodules, confirming AI's crucial role in the future of radiology.

GLEAMER's CEO, Christian Allouche, expresses pride in their relentless effort to build expert-level algorithms to support radiologists: "This study proves our ability to elevate standards of care in various clinical areas, with a commitment for evidence-based results that increase trust and accelerate the adoption."
Prof. Marie-Pierre Revel, Head of Radiology at Cochin Hospital, lauds the study’s findings, emphasizing the challenge of chest X-ray interpretation and the essential support provided by AI: “The performance of the algorithm paves the way for enhancing diagnostic accuracy across the board, elevating the standard of care for a broader patient population."

GLEAMER's evolution continues with a suite of AI solutions already transforming radiology standards - from BoneView's fracture detection to automated measurements with BoneMetrics and BoneAge. These trailblazing solutions have secured CE certification in Europe, with BoneView being FDA-cleared in the U.S. for adults and children. With a recent capital boost of $29.5 million, GLEAMER promises a future where medical diagnostics are more precise, efficient, and accessible, heralding a new dawn for healthcare providers and patients alike.
